Inclusion is the practice of creating equitable environments where all individuals have an opportunity to be involved and achieve success. This introductory training will provide its participants with a foundational understanding of what inclusion means and why it is so essential for our programs. We will discuss certain practices and models that we can take back to our professional settings to create a more inclusive environment.

Learning Goals:
  • Gaining an understanding of what the ADA is and who it includes;
  • Creating an expanded understanding of children with disabilities;
  • Discussing the importance of Person First Language; and
  • Understanding the City of Cambridge's Inclusion Initiative  and how to access supports for the youth serving Out of School Time programs.
“Takebacks” from this Workshop:
  • Understand how to create an inclusive environment in their programs

Dinner will be provided.
